Congressman Howard Berman on Foiled Iranian Terrorist Plot
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Howard L. Berman, Ranking Democrat on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, released the following statement on the recently revealed plot by the Iranian government to assassinate Ambassador Adel Al-Jubeir , the Saudi Arabian Ambassador to the United States on American soil.
“I applaud the hard work of the Obama Administration, our law enforcement, and intelligence officials who foiled a plot hatched by elements of the Iranian government to commit a terrorist attack on American soil. Iran remains a top threat to international peace and security. This Iranian operation further highlights the urgency of American efforts to stop Iran’s illicit nuclear weapons program and support for terrorism worldwide. The United States must not waver in our efforts to eliminate the threat posed by the current Iranian regime.”
